Zoe's Tutoring
About
Hello! I am a 21 year old college student in my third year at the Santa Rosa Junior college. I have worked as a tutor for the school for a year in elementary and intermediate algebra. I also have spent most of my younger sister's school years helping her through math. I have a love for teaching and am compassionate about learning; no matter the skill level or how rigorous the work may be! I am 100% focused on not only understanding the material, but knowing why and how to teach it to others. I will be graduating in Spring 2020 with a degree in physics and natural sciences. I hope to further my ambitions and passion around learning into my career and future plans.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Generally I like to get to know them and their teaching style first. I think it is important to create a great repore before starting any learning. Then, I see what they are learning and what their skill level is. I prefer to teach by empowering them to feel comfortable with the subject by using the method "I do, we do, you do." This will ensure they are confident with the material.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am about to graduate from the SRJC with two degrees, one in physics and one in natural sciences. I worked as a tutor at the JC for two semesters holding tutoring sessions around campus.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching by learning from my own teachers. I developed a passion for teaching once I saw what learning can do noy only to one's success but to their confidence and comprehension in all other subjects.
