As a highly qualified tutor with 4 years of tutoring experience, a 4.6 high school GPA and an AP track record, I am dedicated to helping students achieve their academic goals. I will be attending UCLA in the fall and will be spending part of my summer teaching younger students. I specialize in math, but I am equipped to help with numerous other subjects as well. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I like to know where my student is at, their skill level. Then, I can learn what they need help with. I like to use worksheets, or math workbooks to teach my students. Then, if they have any struggles, I can work with them to fix those struggles.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have tutored many first graders at my school, and I think I helped them a lot. I mostly helped them with reading and sounds, but I do prefer to teach math, as I am better at it.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$10- $15 is my standard, but we can definitely discuss the price after I see where the student is at.
How did you get started teaching?
I've always loved helping people to learn, its one of my passions. I would always help my classmates with their work after I finished mine. I've just always loved teaching in general, and I woulf like to start doing it.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with 1st graders who needed help with reading and sounds, but I would love to teach students math as well.
