Practice makes permanence! While I did not grow up in a multilingual home, over the last 10 years one of my primary life goals has been to become fluent in spanish. I have come a long way and now feel comfortable with it in both casual and academic settings.. but the learning never ends! For my students, as well as myself, progress is always more important than perfection. Having studied abroad in Spain, as well as lived all over California and been exposed to different language varieties and dialects, my unique approach to language learning is all about building confidence and applying what you're learning in real world situations. Learning materials are pulled from various sources and tailored to the specific needs of each student.

I would love the chance to share some of what I have learned with you and help improve your language skills, whether you are looking for tips and tricks to better memorize vocabulary, practice and feedback on pronunciation and flow, or simply a handful of fun activities and resources to keep you engaged and excited along your language journey. I am all about integrating topics and teaching styles that you enjoy already and building onto a strong foundation to encourage lifelong language confidence and curiosity.

I love watching a student's confidence and comfortability with a language grow! When I worked as an English Language Conversation Assistant at the Universidad de Jaen in southern Spain, I got to offer English learners the support and encouragement to take risks and have fun with their language learning the way that I wish someone could have done for me as I first began learning Spanish. I feel that my unique experiences have allowed me the ability to tap into multiple worlds (English/Spanish) (Student/Teacher) and see things from a new light. I have such enthusiasm about language and uniting people from different backgrounds, and I am sure that excitement will rub off on you, making learning and practicing feel much more like play than like work. What I enjoy most is when my students can look back and see not just how much progress they have made, but how their relationship with the target language (and language learning in general) has evolved, and seeing them continue to commit themselves to expanding their knowledge and appreciation for the different languages and cultures of the world!
