Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to figure out what they have been doing previously to study, how it has been working, and what can be improved upon. I also like to get to know the student's learning style, personality, and motivations to make the learning process more comfortable.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a math tutor for Cordova High school during the summer of 2016 for students with autism. I also have hosted a lot of study sessions and tutoring during my university experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Prices will vary on situation, location and subject. Contact me for an estimate anytime at 916-276-1243
How did you get started teaching?
My father is a high school teacher for special education students. While I study at university, I often have a lot of classmates who struggle in certain subject matter. Now that courses are online, I feel tutoring is much more essential in proper learning.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students with autism, dyslexia, ADHD and other learning difficulties. I also often teach athletes or children with busy schedules who don't always have time to grasp material as easily.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone you feel comfortable with. Ask questions about your teacher, find out what their teaching style is. What is most important is compatibility, not necessarily credentials.
