About
As a freshman at UCLA who recently graduated from high school, I offer a different perspective in learning than teachers. I understand what it takes to improve and learn because I myself am currently doing just that.
I recieved an A in all high school and college math classes, 5's in both the AP Calculus BC exam and the AP Statistics exam, and a 35 on the ACT (Math: 36, Science: 36, Reading: 35, Writing: 34)
Although I excelled in high school math, I still had to work hard to achieve success, so I know what it takes to do well.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge with other people, and it brings me much joy when the people I help out succeed.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I would review all the topics that they need help with, so I know I can be of service. I then try to access what it is that the student needs help with, whether it be homework or test prep. If it is homework they need help with I would first do a few problems for them then guide them through the rest. When it comes to math and ACT prep I believe it is all about exposure to different problems, so to prepare for a test I would provide a plethora of problems. After having they do them, we would review the ones they got wrong and have them write down the solutions to memorize.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was part of the peer tutoring program in high school in which I helped many of my classmates in mainly math and science.
I am also part of a club at UCLA called Fitness and Nutrition in which we educated local elementary schools with proper fitness and nutrition, so I have experience working with children under the age of 10.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
As a college student I do not expect much in terms of price. I am flexible with whatever the student is comfortable with, but I would prefer in the range of 10-15 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching through my high school peer tutoring program.
What types of students have you worked with?
I mainly worked with freshman and sophomore high school students who needed help with math. I did work with some students who needed help with biology, physics, and the ACT.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should ask their tutors what they can offer that their school teacher cannot.
