About
With over 15 years of English Language Arts instruction, I understand how to meet my students where they are to create the opportunity for dramatic academic gains. I received my Bachelor's degree in English Education in 2004 and a Masters in Educational Leadership in 2011. My expertise is Middle and High School writing (with a focus on expository, informational and college readiness) and literary analysis.

Reading for Information & Literature: Analysis, Advanced Analysis and Synthesis
Strong Undertsanderning of Common Core Standards and the advancement between standards.
I enjoy working with young people to build their reading and writing skills towards a level of mastery. I believe that education is a human right and as an educator, I work hard to find a way to give every student, every opportunity for success.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will begin by discussing academic goals and current skill sets. Students may be asked to share current work and/or produce work or participate in diagnostic assessments as to see how to best serve.
One the academic levels and goals are clear, we will work through a customized plan of instruction and practice with clear, concrete skills and goals aligned to Common Core Standards and California State Standards.
