About
As a Biochemistry major at UCSD, I have a strong passion for science and math. The largest extent of my experience has been tutoring for AP Chemistry; however, I am also available to tutor general chemistry, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, SAT prep, and other areas upon request. I am very passionate about learning and it is very exciting to be able to pass my education onto others! Most of my tutoring experience has been with high school students; however, I would love to work with younger ages as well.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, it is very important to assess where they are in their part of the learning curve. Once I have an idea of what material they understand what areas they might need extra work with, it is also important to determine what learning styles work for each specific student. I am a very strong proponent that anyone can understand math or science: it simply requires practice and catered methods of teaching.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Biochemistry student at University of California San Diego. I have had extensive experience teaching AP Chemistry students.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing depends on the subject and is available upon request.
How did you get started teaching?
I have had a strong passion and affinity for science and math starting at a very early age. After taking AP Chemistry in high school, I became even more motivated to pursue this path. I became a lab assitant for my former AP Chemistry teacher and soon after began tutoring AP Chemistry students. Since then, I have expanded my tutoring to include math as well.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked mostly with high school students; however, I am very open to working with younger ages as well.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who is willing to bring a catered approach to their tutoring. The student's needs must be met in order to learn and a tutor must be willing to change their teaching style to adapt to different individuals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What teaching styles work best for you? What is the goal of hiring a tutor? What outcome do you want from your tutoring sessions? How can the tutor best help you with your own individual learning style?
