Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Each student has an extremely personalized plan and schedule that will set them up to have the highest chance of success.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have finished Mathematics in High School a year only with an A in every single class including 2 honors classes. I have tutored over 25 different students in the Los Angeles County ranging from kindergarteners to college students, and each client has experienced a form of improvement on some level.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I usually charge $25 per lesson. But I am always willing to negotiate.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been helping people with math my whole life because I have always been great at it and I always worked extremely hard at it, so when I finished Math early, I wanted to share my gift with other students who I saw struggling, so that is how I got into tutoring.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with kindergartners, college students, and everything in between.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In January, I tutored a friend at La Salle High School twice a week for three weeks who was barely passing Calculus with a C-, and by February his grade was up to a B+. I see things like this as events because seeing others succeed truly gives me joy.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell that student to hire me because I have not been unsuccessful with one client, I will create a personalized plan that fits your situation, and I am 18 years old myself so I understand the pressures of being a student.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should try to become as independent as possible, but I am always there to answer a question for my clients, and I never want my student to hold a quetstion back.
