I have taught English Composition at UCLA, Santa Monica City College as well as at Los Angeles Trade Technical college. I also have extensive 1-1 tutoring experience in the fields of English and French.
High school students also welcome - I taught one semester at the high-school level, and can help guide you with your essay assignments.
Have two graduate degrees from UCLA - A Masters in English and a second Masters in Teaching English as a second language.
Worked as a TA at UCLA teaching writing to both native and non-native speakers.
I very much enjoy helping students discover their inner scribe. Good writing results from clear thinking. It's easy to improve once you know how to approach the task at hand. It's fun to see how students can do more than they think they can.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to interview each student to learn what they are hoping to gain from the session and what their specific needs are. If it is a specific assignment, we go over what is being asked, and what is the best way to approach the task. If the task is a writing task, we talk about good essay structure and focus on revision. We also talk about general study skills and assignment preparation. It's all about understanding what your teachers are looking for.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have spent great time in the Humanities at UCLA. I have a Bachelors Degree in French and German; a Master's in English, and a second Masters in TESL. I was a TA at UCLA teaching composition to native and non-native students, both at the undergraduate and graduate level. I also taught English composition at Santa Monica City College and Los Angeles Trade Technical College. I have spent 20 years in the world of press release distribution at a large newswire and am thus familiar with a wide range of communications styles.
