About

My practice promotes critical and investigative learning, engaging students with thought-provoking questions and cross-subject connections, and giving students tools to think independently. My approach is patient and judgment-free, with the goal of sparking curiosity.

Much of my current work is centered on giving unique support to students with ADHD or challenges with executive function, study skills, and organization. As someone with ADHD, I’ve built a base of knowledge both from life experience and dedicated study on how to support students with executive function.

I offer online or in-person sessions for individuals or groups between 30 minutes and 4 hours. I also provide a personal Drive folder to each student with session reports, assignments, and other resources for a structured experience.

It's important to me that our time together is productive and engaging; I seek to engage with students who want active support in their learning, rather than passive supervision during homework. If you're looking for a tutor who will actively support your goals and engage your curiosity, I’m here to help!

Frequently asked questions

Before I can teach, I first have to learn about the student. I begin by asking assessment questions regarding their learning style, particular academic challenges, what strategies they have tried in the past, etc. to help me carefully understand their unique learning needs.

I give students the power to lead the flow of the session and communicate their needs to me. It's important to me to not dominate the conversation or assert myself above the student. This empowers them to take responsibility for their education, and this allows me to better understand what support is actually needed.

I use Google Drive to keep online resources organized so that the student always has notes, worksheets, and readings available to them outside of our sessions. For online sessions, I can use Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, or other video conferencing tools.

When I was 15, my neighbor asked me to help her homeschooled 12-year-old son pass the CHSPE exam, and I worked with him twice weekly for 6 months that year. This was a deeply rewarding experience for me, especially upon hearing that he passed the exam, allowing him to enroll in college at only 13 to follow his dreams of becoming a theater professional. Ever since, I’ve understood that making knowledge accessible for learners pursuing unique passions is what I do best.

I tutored intermittently up until I graduated college and began to tutor and teach full-time, branching out into new subjects I had learned through my studies. I've continued to learn and grow, gaining experience with diverse learning styles, critical-thinking based approaches, and creative use of educational resources both online and in-person. I strive to leave a lasting impact on every student in the way they think about themselves, others, and the world we live in.

I have worked with hundreds of students across a wide range of contexts from kindergarten through college, as well as homeschoolers and adult learners. I have recently specialized further in support for ADHD students and other neurodivergent students, assisting with organization, study skills, time management, sleep habits, and building a growth mindset.

I’m interested in working with any student seeking support in curiosity-driven learning or with academic and life skills!
