About
I am an ESL teacher at an adult school, and I have been tutoring students in ESL for the past 20+ years. I have taught and tutored students from all over the world. My students have gone on to study at universities and to successful careers.
I hold a master's degree in political science, a TESL certificate, and a California designated subjects teaching degree in ESL.
I hope to hear from you and to find out whether we can potentially work together!
Everything. I love seeing my students succeed, and knowing that I had a hand in making it happen.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before meeting with a student for the first time, I ask the student to send me a writing sample for analysis. Then I meet the student for a free consultation. At that point I have a conversation with the student, and we decide whether we wish to proceed with lessons. If the student does wish to proceed, I create a personalized study plan for the student. I generally like to meet for one hour once per week, as I give the student a lot of independent work. I view my role as that of someone who needs to teach the student how to learn and be independent. Upon completion of my lessons, I fully expect my students to be far more ready to take on the English language by themselves!
