About

Our tutors are graduates of some of the top universities in the world. Many have years of experience teaching their chosen subjects and significant experience working in their field. We also look for tutors that have real-life experience to back-up their qualifications: our language tutors are native or fluent speakers, our music tutors are professional musicians, our science teachers have worked in labs. We are absolutely confident in the quality of our tutors and know that our students are in excellent hands.

The young minds we work with inspire us just as much as we hope to inspire them. Helping our students achieve their goals, gain a better understanding of difficult subjects and the world around them, and getting them set well on their path to success is what keeps us teaching.

Caitlyn helped my son get into his dream school. He is now happily settled in California and thriving at college! She helped us navigate the confusing admissions process with ease. I couldnt be more grateful, we couldnt have done it without her.

    Frequently asked questions

Each student has his or her own individual needs, so we offer a free initial consultation to learn about every new student's long-term goals, academic history and learning style. During the following no-obligation trial lesson, the tutor we match them with compiles a report on their baseline skill level and short-term academic targets. Once you're certain you're comfortable with your chosen tutor and we've decided on a plan of action together, we'll schedule your first two weeks of lessons and send you your first invoice. As always, we honor our commitment to transparency. Please feel free to reach out if you have questions about our intake documents, invoicing process or safeguarding policy.

We have a range of different options to suit different needs and budgets. Tailored tutoring is our primary offering for students in need of intensive help. We charge a base price of $90 per hour, this includes a fully personalized curriculum written for each student's needs, all of the necessary resources, regular progress reports and PDF copies of every lesson. Guided tutoring is for clients who need less intensive help at a cost of $75 per hour. This is best suited for students who are looking for help with homework or want lessons to complement homeschooling or distance learning. Clients provide their own resources and our tutors will work with you to help you learn the material. For clients who need spur-of-the-moment help, whether it be proofreading an essay or help with a specific homework question, we offer microtutoring. You can book lessons at short notice, in 10 minute increments, starting at $2 per minute. We also offer bulk discounts and monthly subscription packages at a reduced cost, as well as a discount for all verified first responders or healthcare workers. Feel free to reach out for further details.

When our co-founders David and Cait Tysoe met, he was an experienced private teacher working abroad and she was a plucky American backpacker with a background in educational startups. It only took a few months for the young couple to begin collaborating, and not much longer for the concept of Tutelage Education Group to be developed. Together the duo dreamed of a transparent and ethical tuition and consultation company that helps build truly safe educational workspaces. They were disillusioned with the status quo in private education, which has allowed for unchallenged companies to offer underqualified and unvetted tutors, rely on outdated teaching methods and capitalize on the work of ill-paid students and recent graduates. Tutelage Education Group offers a better alternative. While the world is becoming increasingly globalized and digital, the best options in private education have remained stagnant. We believe that our new reality must be reflected in education. Present-day students are digital natives and educators have a responsibility to respond and adapt to the shifting landscape of teaching and learning in order to engage with them on their own terms. Enter Tutelage: the only online global network of expert tutors and consultants that you can trust to always put students first. Once you contact us with your request, we draw on our pool of talent to match you with a tutor or consultant who specializes in your area of need. Our cutting edge digital teaching styles and platforms allow our best-fit educators and consultants to work with you no matter where you are in the world. We are crafting a company you can feel good about working with, a company that inspires confidence with its uncompromising commitment to quality education and to our students’ and clients’ safety.

We have worked with families from all over the world and with students of all ages.

The single most important skill a tutor can have is the ability to build a positive and respectful relationship with their students. Qualifications are, of course, vital, but they are nothing if the lesson isn't taking place in an encouraging and safe environment. It is important to be sure that both you and your child are 100% comfortable with your tutor before committing to long-term tutoring. We always offer a no-obligation trial lesson, so that the student and tutor can get to know each other better and make sure that they are confident in moving forward. Any tutor who has the best interests of their student at heart will be honest with them about how they feel the lessons are going and knows when they should help them find someone who may be a better fit. You should also beware of tutors that promise great results within a short space of time. We are very capable of working to tight deadlines, but tutors should be realistic about what can be achieved during a set time-frame. Good teaching takes time, and patience is the key to success. Finally, always be aware of the cancellation policy. Some tutors are very flexible, others are incredibly strict, and you don't want to be caught out if you need to reschedule at the last minute. For example, we offer free rescheduling or a refund if you contact us at least 24 hours in advance. If it's less than 24 hours notice, then we can't promise anything, but we'll always try our absolute best to squeeze you in somewhere.

You should generally be confident of what your goal is before talking to any tutors or consultants. What do you want to get out of your work with them? Are you looking for general help with schoolwork? Do you want to go up a couple of letter grades? Is there a specific test that you're taking soon? Do you want help with all aspects of the college application process or just want someone to proof-read your admissions essay? There is no wrong answer to the question, but if you have a clear idea of what you're looking for then you'll be able to make sure that you choose the right person for the job. Having a rough idea of your ideal budget and how much time you can commit each week is also helpful.
