About
Hi there!
I'm Isabella, and I've been tutoring for about 5 years. I recently graduated from UC Berkeley with a bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cell Biology and have relocated to Reno to gain clinical experience as I prepare to apply to medical school.
I absolutely love working with students and helping them build confidence in their academic abilities. I specialize in working with students in grades K–12 and have experience supporting children on the autism spectrum, those with behavioral challenges, and those with IEP plans. My teaching style is patient, flexible, and tailored to each student’s unique needs and learning style.
My favorite subjects to tutor are elementary-level math and English, as well as high school-level science courses like biology and chemistry. What sets me apart is not only my strong academic background but also my passion for making learning fun, approachable, and supportive—especially for students who need a little extra guidance.
I look forward to helping students in the Reno area reach their academic goals!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I first meet my students I like to introduce myself and discuss some common likes and dislikes they may have in order to get to know them. Most importantly, I like to go over what my students are struggling with so that I can do my best to help them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a freshman at UC Berkeley double majoring in Molecular Cell Biology and Marine Science. I have taken honors math from grades 6-8 as well as Pre-AP secondary math I and II and AP Calculus AB in high school. For the CAASPP standardized tests in grades 6-8 I exceeded the standards for the math section. I also participated in Math Olympiad throughout middle school.
