About
Currently, I am a freshman student at California State University Long Beach majoring in history to become a history teacher.
I started tutoring in 2018 by volunteering with the National Honors Society before switching to private tutoring. Since then, I have privately tutored a middle school and high school student on general curriculum, including writing, math, science, and social sciences.
In my own academic career, I have experience in various Advanced Placement high school courses and college entrance exams like the SAT. In high school, I achieved a 4.2 GPA and a SAT score of 1420. Currently, I have a 4.0 GPA at Cal State Long Beach.
I would love to apply my own academic experience and passion for teaching to help students in their own academic careers.
Since I plan to go into teaching as my career, I see tutoring as a mutually beneficial endeavor in which I get to help other students while preparing for my own future career.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In the first lesson with a student, I generally go over what subjects they wish to improve in while gauging their general level of knowledge. Then I gather the necessary materials and notes to help in their studies from work I have previously done in school. I sit with the student to help them on school work they need done while answering questions and making sure they are doing the work correctly. If they have no work to be done, I write review questions or go over the subject through discussion to help develop their overall understanding of what they are learning.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently working on my bachelor's degree in history and teaching credential in order to become a high school history teacher. In the past, I have privately tutored two other students, one in middle school and one in high school. I have also done volunteer tutoring through school programs such as the National Honor Society.

$14 dollars an hour is my default pay rate no matter the subject or subject level.
How did you get started teaching?
When I was a Senior in high school, my desire to get a job for money and my growing interest in teaching as a career got me interested in tutoring. I applied as a tutor in my school's private tutoring job openings and was subsequently hired by a middle school and high school student.
