Middle-High School Math Tutoring
About
I'm Roman, and I'm a student learning Physics at the University of Illinois. I tutor because I love learning, and my ultimate goal is to have my students grow to share that passion. I want my students to stand surrounded by the beautiful and intricate mechanics of the subjects they study, rather then simply memorize procedures and facts. Students who work with me don't just learn to how solve their homework, but develop a completely new style of thinking that allows them to flourish academically in any field they pursue.
I tailor my teaching specifically to each individual student's needs and abilities instead of relying on a general method that works 100% of time. To do this, I evaluate each student's strengths and weaknesses, and focus on helping them apply their aptitude towards their academic goals. In all of my teaching, I aim to present complex concepts in tangible and visual ways that give students a deeper, more intuitive understanding of the plain information they hear about in class.
Currently, I specifically focus on K-12 mathematics (everything up to and including Calculus I), Physics, and Chemistry. In cases where I need to completely teach the content, rather than provide guided practice, I completely review the content and plan the lesson, with notes, in advance, so that my student and I can make the most efficient use of our time together.
