Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First we give an initial assessment, free of charge, to see if your student and the tutor are a good match. Then we talk about the plan of attack!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our tutors are educators currently, or are training to be. Our service gives them the experience they need to perfect their process.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Every situation is unique, but we don't charge more than $49/hour for our services.
How did you get started teaching?
Ziggy has been educating students since he was in high school almost 30 years ago! Now he's teaching others how to use the skills he has learned along the way!
What types of students have you worked with?
IEP, GED, SPED, and even "normal" kids.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I ran across a student I had helped a few years back, and she is doing soooo much better than before. I started with her getting D's and F's on her report cards and brought her up to B's and C's before we parted ways. Now she is on the honor roll with 3 A's and 2 B's! I couldn't be prouder! She has come so far!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you can connect with your tutor. Ability to communicate is 80% of the process.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Try to see the process from all sides so you see where things are going. That way you don't get too frustrated and can set mini goals.
