I have 28 years experience teaching English at all levels from grammar school to university students. I received my Teaching Credential for English Literature in 1989. I lived for over two decades in Germany so I have a broad experience teaching English as a Second Language as well. I am a near native speaker of German, so I know what it is like to learn a foreign language.
Students tell me that my explanations are easy to understand and lead to real improvements in their performance. I have years of positive feedback from hundreds of students whether they are learning to improve the structure of an essay, report or presentation or they are simply trying to express themselves in the English language with a wider vocabulary, better grammar or appropriate punctuation.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I have a new student, I first assess what needs and goals the student has by asking lots of questions. I establish where the problems or difficulties lie and then map out a plan for how we can reach the intended goal together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Teaching Credential for English and have worked as a teacher in the field for the last 28 years.

How did you get started teaching?
I believed there were better ways to teach than what I had experienced from my teachers. That is what motivated me to get my teaching credential.
