About

I am an English major, continuing my education in writing and film. I took AP English classes in high school and have completed my English, Composition and Speech classes at College of the Desert. I have received praise by numerous instructors for my writing and greatly enjoy creative and academic projects. I understand what it feels like to be a young student learning a new skill and that writing and grammar is not something that comes easily to most people. I am patient and understanding of the different learning styles students have and am enthusiastic about helping students develop their skills and appreciation for the art of compositon.

I enjoy helping students master a skill they have been struggling with. As a student myself I know how great it feels to have that "Aha!" moment where everything comes together. I am passionate about English Literature and writing and love to help instill that appreciation and understanding of the subject in others. Being able to draft your own essays and written works is such an important skill to have and I am proud to be able to help others achieve this!

Frequently asked questions

Step 1: I introduce myself to the student and briefly share my educational background.

Step 2: I ask the student what they feel their strengths and weaknesses are in the subject. I then show the student a few ways to improve the areas they are weak in, as well as build on the areas they are strong in.

Step 3: I review the assignment instructions with the student and if possible, condense them into a few steps for the student to follow.

Step 4: I assist the student in planning, drafting and completing the assignment, ensuring that they are utilizing their new skills and putting forth their best effort into their work.

Step 5: I review the completed assignment with the student & assist them in making corrections if necessary. I ensure they understand why corrections need to be made if any are. I then ask the student how comfortable they feel in the new skill they have learned on a scale from 1 to 10.

Step 6: I take personal notes on how the student is doing and how I can help them to improve. I congratulate the student on their hard work and encourage them to continue developing their skills. I check in with the student to see how they're doing in the subject.
