I enjoy teaching. I am very patient and friendly. I am very good at explaining abstract ideas in a concrete way.

Need to know the difference between an adjective or an adverb? I can help with this.

Need to know how to tell when a word is plural versus possessive? Do you need to understand when to use apostrophe S and when to just add an S at the end of a word? I can help with this.

Does writing a paragraph make your stomach turn? I can help with this.

I also help people learn how to be more comfortable using computers. I teach them how to do basic tasks, which enables them to be more self-sufficient with their computers and the internet, such as: On-Line Banking, Handling Email attachments, Uploading to Facebook, MS Word, Excel, Google Docs & Sheets, and more.

I have worked with computers and people for over 25 years, and enjoy teaching. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh, in Information Science with a minor in Computer Science.

You will feel very comfortable with our 1-on-1 setting, or with me leading friendly groups of all sizes.

I really enjoy helping people feel succesful.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I invite the student to bring along any recent school work or assignments that reflect their areas of concern. We also talk together about what goals they would like to accomplish, and an ideal timeline to meet those goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

5+ years of practical experience with local school districts. Bachelor of Information Science, with a minor in computer science. 15+ years practical experience with major global corporations, as an analyst, project leader and frequent mentor to team members.

For new students, I begin with a half-price first visit. This allows us to get a good feeling if we make a good fit as well as determine how best to proceed together to meet your goals.

How did you get started teaching?

While working for major global corporations, I was often selected to be a mentor to new team members. I also gave training classes on newly implemented software systems to employees. Repeatedly, I received complements that I was "A really good teacher!". Once I became a mother, I became intimately familiar with local school districts, and state standards as I helped my own children with homework assignments as well as volunteering in classrooms. Teachers were delighted with my assistance and complimented me frequently on my teaching talents.

What types of students have you worked with?

Grade school and middle school as well as adults and senior citizens. One-on-one, workshops and classes. I have successfully worked with differently abled and ADHD students.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I recently enjoyed a musical performance at the Getty museum with friends. It was part of their summer series. We brought a picnic and enjoyed the art and the music.

Think about your goals, and the atmosphere where you feel most comfortable learning.
