About
I really try to make the experience personal for my clients. I enjoy checking up on them outside of tutoring hours to see how their classes are doing. Many of my clients end up, even after terminating my services, asking me occasional questions which I've been happy to help them with. The long term relationships are incredibly gratifying for me.
The idea that, even if not pursuing mathematics in their career, the student being able to advance past a chapter in their life with my help.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Identifying weaknesses in fundamental understanding. Math does not increase in difficulty, but rather constantly builds upon itself. A misunderstanding in an earlier subject can shift the mindset of a student in the wrong direction.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
An A in all college level math courses through the STEM path up to Calculus 1.
Two years of tutoring experience from clients in basic arithmetic all the way to AP Calculus AB.

I use a flat rate of $30 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I started through volunteer work at my church's private school. It was through this program that I discovered a love for tutoring children of all ages.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with children from grades 6-12 with math skills ranging from basic arithmetic to AP Calculus AB.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher that is willing to tutor not only the subject that they are being hired for, but the subjects before that lead up to said hired subject.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Am i willing to understand the process of the problem, or am I only interested in the steps to solving the problem?
Am I willing to step back to a previous point in my math career in order to develop a stronger connection with my current subject?
Will a teacher genuinely morph my understanding of the subject, or will I only benefit from an accountability partner?
