Retired credentialed teacher who loves to teach English Language Arts. I have over three decades of experience. I love to read and write and I want you to do too!
I enjoy meeting new people and having fun while learning.
Mrs. Powell laid the foundation for my love of English language and literature. With her guidance, I was able to excel in not only reading comprehension, but also vocabulary, grammar, and writing. I credit Mrs. Powell for teaching me the fundamentals of English language and fueling my passion for literature. With the skills she instilled in me during my formative years, I was able to go on and get nearly perfect scores on the SAT in the critical reading and writing sections. The time she put in teaching me everything she could encouraged me to believe in myself and succeed in all of my future endeavors.
The Wise Owl made learning such a fun process! More importantly, she was always willing to take the time to ensure I fully understood a concept before moving on to the next topic.
My experience with The Wise Owl was superb! She was extremely patient with my skill ability, she was very precise with her tutoring method and she brought a very great vibe! I highly recommend, The Wise Owl to anyone!

Be honest in how to like to learn material/have it presented to you. Let your tutor know what genres you like - or don't. Reading should not be torturous.
Do I truly enjoy reading? If I don't, why? Are my interests different than what I am required to read?Do I think reading can be fun?
