Hereditary; I come from a family of educators.
What types of students have you worked with?
Diverse group of ethnicities and backgrounds. Ages pre-school to adult. Even taught conversational English on an online platform to students in Beijing, China.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I host a reunion for my former students. This year we had it on Zoom. It was hard to host a party with so many people but we had fun. Guests said it made them happy.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be honest in how to like to learn material/have it presented to you. Let your tutor know what genres you like - or don't. Reading should not be torturous.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do I truly enjoy reading? If I don't, why? Are my interests different than what I am required to read?Do I think reading can be fun?
