About
I love reading, writing and discussing literature! As a classroom teacher for more than 15 years, I have always found ways to get my students excited about reading, writing and analyzing literature. I make learning relevant, accessible and meaningful to students.
I make English lit (new term kids use today)!
I taught co-ed classes for more than 10 years, yet worked in all male/boy settings for more than 9. I truly enjoy working with young men because it is a challenge to get them to enjoy reading
( for the most part). I also work with girls, as well.
As a teacher I received awards for:
-improving students at least one grade level or more
-100% of my students moving one test band higher on standardized test
-improving male/boy enrollment into honors and Advanced Placement courses
-creativity and innovation for learning
Students that choose to work with me, can expect to have a great time while learning, find it easy to talk and gain understanding and most importantly, improve academically.
I look forward to helping my students enjoy boring literature, write amazing papers and analyze poetry-as well as help them get organized.
If you want someone that your student can relate to and make ensure they are learning while having a great time... I am the person.
You do not want the tutoring session to seem like punishment...if so most students will rebel.
Let’s work together for their success.
I enjoy seeing the students students make gains and enjoy learning.

How did you get started teaching?
I fell in love with teaching when I was 8 years old. I was always taking extra worksheets home and teaching my dolls. I remember having teachers that hated the profession and treated me rudely. At that point, I decided I would become a teacher to prove that you can have fun, be polite and learn at the same time. I can't watch a movie or listen to music without thinking -How can I use this in my classroom? I love it and know that all students can learn and can have fun doing it.
