About
I have over 30 years of writing and proofreading experience for professional authors, screenwriters, and corporations. Additionally, I have been an English teacher for 17 years, grades 6 through 12, specializing in AP Literature and Composition. I have extensive experience helping students become better readers and writers in such areas as essay writing, literary analyses, college entrance essays, literature and poetry analysis, and more.
I have always enjoyed reading and writing. Helping others to become better readers and writers is an ongoing passion for me. Seeing students overcome their fear of writing is truly a joy.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to begin by asking students what their goals are and what they've been doing to achieve them. Next, we review student writing samples to identify areas of strength and areas of need.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Teaching AP Literature and Compositon for the past decade has helped hone my skills as a writer and proofreader. It has given me valuable insights into the comprehension and analysis of poety as well as British and American literature.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$40 for an hour of one-on-one tutoring
How did you get started teaching?
Before teaching high school, I was the Director of Training at an Environmental Health and Safety company. As Director of Training, I was responsible for researching and writing all course curricula, and then presenting them to groups. I gradually learned that I enjoyed teaching more than I enjoyed being in "Industry." I have taught ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
In my time as a Director of Training I taught almost exclusively adult, professional students. Since becoming a teacher, I have taught nearly every grade from 1st to 12th. My specialty during the past decade has been 12th grade AP Literature and Composition.
