Math With Mo

My name is Mo and I am a certificated math teacher in Washington state with a Master in Teaching degree from The Evergreen State College. I have been tutoring math part-time since 2016. In my tutoring sessions, I help guide students through math problems by helping them break down the question and guiding them to apply what they already know in new contexts. I encourage students to think of different ways to look at math problems and to practice their mental number sense. I strive to maintain a patient and positive attitude so students feel safe and encouraged in their math learning. As a tutor, I focus on increasing students' confidence in completing math problems on their own. I work to complement students' learning in the classroom by providing support in reviewing material, study skills, and homework completion. For high schoolers, I am familiar with the structure of both AP and IB courses from first hand experience.
