Love to incorporate student interests into my lessons, and have worked with elementary, middle and high school students to improve comfortabilitity with math while fostering interest in the subject. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically like to meet with the student and parent first, to make sure everyone is comfortable and get a feel for the goals of both the student and parent. Then I will run a trial session where I will feel out where the student's strengths and growth areas are. Then I will have the student tell the parent how the first session went, and have them both decide if its the right fit.
