About
My service stands out because of the unique approach I bring to tutoring. I believe that all students can, and should, thrive in school. Now, as someone who has experienced academic difficulty in the past (before things finally "clicked"), I understand what children need to bring them to their full potential. Usually, this is simply encouragement and instilling confidence. With that being said, I am willing to work as hard as I possible can to help each and every student succeed. Also, as a high school senior about to begin college, I feel as if I bring very relevant knowledge to my tutoring sessions!
Tutoring others brings me significant happiness. In fact, there are five primary goals that I have for tutoring students, all of which I find rewarding. They include: improving my students' grades, helping students get ahead, giving a student confidence to succeed, providing test prep, and teaching a hobby!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First and foremost, I get to the know the student. I want to know his/ her as a person before we delve into academics. This is an important step as it builds trust and camaraderie between tutor & student. I might ask about certain interests, hobbies, or simpply about their day. Again, I find this relationship to be valuable. Throughout my educational career, I have performed the best in classrooms led by teachers that shared a relationship with me in this way. Therefore, new students of mine can expect this type of relationship as we get to know each other. Next, I ask the student specifically what they need. Too often do teachers or parents say what their child needs without asking the child how they feel first! Thus, I want to make sure my lessons are accesible, empowering, educational, and relevant for each individual child.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently in the second semester of my senior year of high school. Throughout my educational career, I have consistently been on the Honors, and eventually AP, path. Because of this, I have been surrounded by intelligent, hard-working students for the past 12+ years, which has allowed me to thrive in academic settings.
I also tutor for a site called WyzAnt, though I am new to it. While I do not have a lot of formal tutoring experience, I do have plenty of experience working and teaching youth in various settings. For example, I have been a teacher's assistant for the past 5 years at my Temple. Every Sunday, I help teachers lead class and teach students. Moreover, I served as the head Scout, or Senior Patrol Leader, in my Boy Scout Troop for 8 months. During my time in this position, I was constantly teaching, and learning, from others around me. Furthermore, I was a camp counselor at the Long Beach Sea Base, where I taught Lifesaving, Citizenship in the Nation, First Aid, and Motorboating.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
While I don't necessarily have a standard pricing system for my lessons, I do charge within reason. I intend to make each family feel comfortable with the pricing.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a variety of students. For instance, as a teacher's assistant at my Temple, I have worked with first graders, third graders, and seventh graders. As a Camp Counselor at the Long Beach Sea Base, I worked with Scouts ranging from fifth grade to tenth grade. Therefore, I feel comfortable tutoring students of all ages.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In the end of 2019, I earned the rank of Eagle Scout. This event is super important to me; it represents the culmination of years of hard work, determination, and developing new life skills. Moreover, I am extremely honored to be in a very selective group of citizens that represent righteous values and servant leadership.
