About
Hello! My name is Sam, and I graduated from UCLA in 2019 and am available to assist students through virtual at-home learning while schools are shut down. I can help teach difficult topics or just simply help navigate assignments/calendar/time management. I am here to help your student get through this school closure and be back at school stronger than ever.
I really love working with young people, and I think that they never get as much credit as they deserve! By getting to know them both academically and personally, I strive to form a long-term relationship with students so that we can create and achieve long-term goals.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
While the nature of tutoring right now is different, I do like to have an initial consultation with the student and the parent separately to identify goals with both their strengths and weaknesses. During this consoltation, I also think it's important to get to know the student on a personal level -- what kind of learner are they? What do they like to do for fun? What's a typical day-in-the-life? I think that developing a personal relationship and connection builds a much stronger and more efficient learning atmosphere.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While I am not formally trained as a teacher, I have a Bachelors' degree from UCLA, and have worked with students of all ages.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I typically price myself at $25/hour for virtual lessons.
