Hello everyone,
I'm Lili and I am a third year economics major at UCLA. I use to tutor math at community college before transferring to university. I am able to help students at different levels of math from algebra, to calculus, and geomeetry. I have tutored over 200 student at IVC, I was also teacher assistant. I had the opporutnity to work with students with disability, and I think I was able to connect with many students and teach them to solve problems. I have always been interested in tutoring and teaching, and I think I was able to do this job very well in the past two years.
The main think I anjoy about tutoring, is that I change students' vision about math. I know this subject can very hard, but I can make it easy for people. I anjoy it when my students can solve problems by themsleves, and do not ask for help. Personally I love math and I find it easy, which is why I have chosen to tarnsfer my passion to other students. And based on my experience I was able to do that. I had many students who hated math, but after our session together, they found themselves mroe confident towards solving math problems.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The very firts thing I consider before working with a student, is their level of confidence in the subject matter. Sometimes students have very low confidence, that do not let them think about a problem becasue they believe they will not be able to solve it. Therefore, I tend to increase their confidence and teach them to think about a problem, even if they have to guess a solution for each question.
