About
Additional reviews are available on Google and Yelp. Hi, I'm Tamika "Kali" Kerr. I have a master's in teaching, a Bachelor's in Mathematics, and a math teaching credential. I have 10 years of tutoring experience, 6 years in the classroom, and 3 years of curriculum development. All students are either tutored by me or a tutor personally trained and mentored by me. All of our tutors are experts in math-based fields including engineering, molecular biology, and mathematics education. Our tutors are math experts but we all have extensive backgrounds in most subjects. We have experience with all grades, a variety of curriculum, online learning, and students with IEPs.
We provide tutoring outside, in our mobile classroom, or in your home with COVID compliant materials. Our mobile classroom provides a quiet, safe, sterile learning environment for your student. Morning math in the park keeps students 6 feet apart and provides sneeze guards, gloves, and hand sanitizer for all students and tutors. We even saran wrap keyboards before each session.
Our program is "student-centered" which means we focus on what your child needs to learn to be successful in the classroom, not just homework help. We believe in showing students how math can be used in life and their future careers. We operate primarily in the Claremont and Rancho Cucamonga area but We also have tutors that will travel to the Riverside/San Bernardino area.
We love seeing the "oh now I get it" look on the faces of students. It's also so uplifting to help students learn, get organized, and show growth in every area.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always start by getting to know the student: feelings towards math, previous experiences, future goals, interests, and motivators. To keep from having to give students tests, I look over past work, state test scores, and report cards. I help the student with current work while taking notes on concepts to work on in the future. The goal is to use that first session to ensure the student is open to learning and to let them know that I am patient and here to help. I want them to feel comfortable asking questions and trying.
