About
Hello, my name is Ryan Carandang. I'm a Computer Engineering Undergrad at Cal Poly Pomona with complex understanding of Math and Sciences. As such, I am very detailed on every subject and will answer any question hypothetical or otherwise that the student has. so long as it fits the instruction at hand. I will provide all necessary materials (textbook pdfs, notes from past classes, and video resources) though if the student has resources from the subject prior to tutoring, I advise that they bring those too. this form of cross examination allows the student to form more connections with the material, leading to improved retention come exam day.
What excites me the most is seeing the gaze of pure fascination when showing students a new trick to solve a problem or how something works in practice. Younger students are primed to explore their environment and interests. This fosters a sense of purpose and curiosity the world needs to advance.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I prefer to go through the basics of the subject in greater detail first so that the students will develop more confidence in their own skills progressively. This approach requires me to creatively solve problems in a way thats easy for the student to see and refer to all resources I've used during my time in academia. This also helps them master the fundamentals so they can tackle more advance concepts.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have completed math courses and some general science courses with no less than a B in university. I can assist with all math up until Differential Equations and Linear Algebra. I can also teach Economics, Electrical Engineering, Programming and most General Sciences.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I will provide a copy of my pricing services when you message me but in general, the price is $30 hourly.
How did you get started teaching?
Indirectly I started tutoring my friends with Calculus 3 and Differential equations since they had trouble with vectors and taking derivatives. As the math gets more complicated, it becomes more abstract to analyze. So naturally I had to break the concepts down to help my friends understand it.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have tutored engineering students within my University starting out but have since branched out to teach students of all ages K-12 and college level.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am currently working on a playthrough of Stardew Valley on twitch with some friends of mine. It helps expose me to the world of entertainment and I plan to share the same energy in lectures
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Contact the instructor before hand to get a feel of how they act and assess if they are the correct fit for you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would like students to discuss the material, parts they are stuck on, and to ask questions that may seem unclear to them.
