About
I specialize in explaining math concepts to students using what they know and then building on that knowledge to add new concepts they need.
I also try to relate problems to real world applications and always try to answer "why do we need to learn this?" that I get from students.
I have a B.S. Degree in Engineering and a M.S. in Education and hold a teaching credential. I have worked as a substitute teacher for 8 years and have tons of experiences from working with different teachers, learning from them what works in teaching math concepts.
I have 2 boys, a 3rd grade and a 7th grade and have been working part time since my oldest son was born.
I love solving puzzles and I believe that math is like a puzzle. I really enjoy teaching math. I always say that whats great in math is that "there is only ONE answer but MANY solutions".

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually ask them for their notes, books, etc. and find out what they already know. Then I find out what specific questions or confusions they have and go from there.
