I specialize in explaining math concepts to students using what they know and then building on that knowledge to add new concepts they need.
I also try to relate problems to real world applications and always try to answer "why do we need to learn this?" that I get from students.
I have a B.S. Degree in Engineering and a M.S. in Education and hold a teaching credential. I have worked as a substitute teacher for 8 years and have tons of experiences from working with different teachers, learning from them what works in teaching math concepts.
I have 2 boys, a 3rd grade and a 7th grade and have been working part time since my oldest son was born.
I love solving puzzles and I believe that math is like a puzzle. I really enjoy teaching math. I always say that whats great in math is that "there is only ONE answer but MANY solutions".
She was very knowledgeable about the subject and explained the process in detail making it easier to understand. She was very patient and kind towards her student.
Smart, patient, effective, flexible schedule. I highly recommend!
I really appreciated how patient and responsible my math tutor was during our tutoring sessions and whenever I needed help with a certain topic. My math tutor was able to explain almost everything to me, precisely and effectively.
She was very good at breaking down concepts and as well as teaching in an interactive way that helped me understand math that had previously looked impossible to me. I highly recommend this tutor
I usually ask them for their notes, books, etc. and find out what they already know. Then I find out what specific questions or confusions they have and go from there.
