About
I have taught English with Long Beach Unified School District since the 1990s and I've also tutored both math and English for about as long. I have a California teaching credential, a BA in English and a master's degree in education. I am most proud of the way I make math more attainable and how I help bring the classics to life. One student told me I inspired her love of reading. I also took a student from a D to an A in Algebra I. I have a love of learning and young people, tutoring gives me the opportunity to celebrate both.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I introduce literary/academic terms in the context of literary and informational text. I help students build vocabulary in context and practice with games. We discuss and explore literary themes and subjects.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors in English and a masters in education. I am a California credentialed English teacher and I have taught English for over 25 years with Long Beach Unified School District.
