About
Hi! I have a BS in Mathematics from the University of Michigan-Dearborn with minors in Applied Statistics and Microbiology where I graduated with High Distinction; I also received an MS in Applied Biostatistics and Epidemiology from the University of Southern California. I have experience tutoring both college and high school students in Introductory Statistics, Biostatistics, Business Statistics, Biology, Algebra, Precalculus and Calculus I & II (to name a few). I worked as a Math Mentor at my undergraduate university, and I have tutored remotely through Zoom and other tutoring platforms as well as in person for the past six years. I look forward to working with you!
I enjoy not only teaching new concepts but also helping students build up confidence.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to review the specific topics that my students are working on ahead of time. That way, I can create custom typed notes for each lesson. If needed, I can also prepare practice problems or go over problems that my students provide. I can also help prepare study guides or review materials for upcoming quizzes and exams. I enjoy getting to know my students and understanding their academic goals in order to help them achieve their full potential.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I majored in Mathematics with minors in Applied Statistics and Microbiology in undergrad. I have taken a lot of different courses in Math and Stats that allow me to give a broad overview of the subject as well as providing motivating background information. I prefer to focus on applications to help encourage students to see the value in what they're learning. I have worked as a Math Mentor at the University of Michigan-Dearborn holding office hours for approximately 60 Calc II students. I have also worked on various tutoring platforms to provide remote and in person instruction to both college and high school students. I have experience working with students both one on one and in small group settings.
