About
I am a current Yale Undergraduate with extensive experience tutoring students of all ages. During my time at school, I have taught English to three non-native adult speakers, as well as general education (math, science, history, etc.) to elementary, middle, and high school students.
I enjoy teaching studetns because I know it can help with the stress of school, and possibly even spark an interest in academics and higher education. However, the most rewarding aspect of teaching is the look of realization when the students finally understand the subject.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start off with one day of brief introductions, getting to know the student and their learning style before moving on to content. I learn what the student wants to learn and how they want to learn it in order to facilitate future lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have tutored informally for friends and family, helping with general education K-12. However, as of starting college, I have worked with larger organizations that provide tutoring services for students. Namely, I have worked with Bridges ESL, which teaches English to non-native speakers, and RISE (Refugee and Immigrant Student Education), which provides general tutoring for students K-12.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The typical price for lessons for students in K-8 is $20-25 an hour. For high school students, the price varies more, from $20-$40 an hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I first started teaching with my little sister, who needed help on assigments that she couldn't get from our parents. Seeing this, my parents urged me to offer my help to family friends, eventually leading me to join various educational organizations.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I believe that first and foremost, the student should ask themselves if they feel comfortable asking for help, and make it known to the teacher if they feel uncertain about any topics, as well as let the teacher know what they can do to ease the experience, especially during times like these.
