What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have all my students do a base-line assesment test - to see where they are. It will show me their strengths and weaknesses. Many students have "gaps" in their mathmatical staircase. (Yes, math is a step-by-step process; one step lelading to another.)
I generally work to fill the "gaps" to help students understand the "Big Picture".
