Valeria Mejia

Hello everyone! My name is Valeria and I have been a tutor since 2019. I am a UC Berkeley Civil Engineering graduate, that is also receiving my master's in education to become a teacher. I mainly focus on Math and College Preparation, but I have also taught other subjects. I speak both English and Spanish fluently and have worked with people of all ages and backgrounds.

I have experience teaching Math, Science, Spanish, English language & writing etc... Working with students from elementary all the way to the college level. I also help middle school students and high school students with test prep, along with advice on how to set themselves up for college.

I am very passionate about teaching and helping students feel confident in themselves. Growing up I often heard students feel inadequate and insecure about their learning pace. I have also struggled feeling those negative emotions, which is why I am so passionate about being a teacher that teaches with kindness and patience. Every student is different and requires different approaches to learning. My goal is to learn about my students, understand the way they uniquely learn and come up with a method to improve their understanding, confidence and grades.
