New to California from Texas where I spent a few years teaching high school mathematics after recieving my Mathematics Education degree in New Hampshire. Certified in multiple states to teach mathematics, and extrememly enthusiastic about helping students eliminate their fear of math!
Mathematics is one of the more challenging subjects for many students, so being in the position to help solve that (pun very much intended) gives me a lot of pride and joy in teaching math. And as much as i enjoyed the classroom setting, I know some of the most powerful work can occur working one on one with a student. Which is why I'm here!
Everything! He’s amazing at what he does I improved so much
Mr. G is an understanding teacher with his students. If someone were to show up late to class or missed an assignment he would see to it the best way possible. When a student had any questions and/or problems with the material, he would help them until they understood said material.
Mr. G really cares about teaching and his students. He made learning math really fun! (Which is hard for some teachers to do). Overall he’s a great person!
Mr. G is one of the most helpful and intelligent teachers that I've been able to work with. Not only did he know his work backwards and forward, he did an incredible job of helping me to understand. On top of being an excellent teacher, he was a genuinely nice person to be around. He is funny, and cares immensely for his students. I can not think of a better teacher in an scenario. He is what every teacher should strive to be.
Getting to know a new student on a personal level outside of subject material is always a great ice breaker that allows me to get to know them. Mathematics can be applied to such a large variety of situations, if I can find a subject of interest, we can tailor the experience to those themes that they may find more interesting than math homework!
