Math Tutoring
About
I am currrently a Physics/Astronomy major and Math minor at the University of Arizona. I have been tutoring since my sophmore year in high school. Although my specialty is math, I have helped tutor people in an array of other areas including ACT Test Prep and organizational skills. My favorite part about tutoring, especially in math, is the look on the faces of the people I help when everything starts to click.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For Math, I will typically start by assessing where they are and what they initially understand. I have notes from Pre-Calculus through Calculus 2. After I understand where they are and what they understand, I will take out my notes and give a brief lesson over what they are learning (sometimes it just takes a different way of explaination for things to start clicking). Then I will help them go through their assignment and answer any questions they might have and offer tips and shortcuts. If needed, I will leave them with a sort of "cheat sheet" with important information like formulas, rules, and relationships.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently an Astronomy/Physics double major and Math minor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing is negotiable. First session is a flat $20. After that is is a $20 fee plus $12/hr.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, I was tutoring a high school student in Algebra. He had just transferred to a public school after being homeschooled for most of his life. He was struggling. After a couple sessions, I got a text from his mom telling me that he had come home from the last session with a smile on his face exclaiming he finally understands his math.
