About
Thirty years of teaching students in public, private and home school settings has given me the experience to help struggling students not only pass their classes, but to excel while discovering a true love of learning and improved self-confidence. Students who do not do well in traditional learning situations will find success as we develop innovative learning strategies to meet their individual needs. Because I tutor in all subjects, I can help students with whatever project is currently assigned in their classes, so that we can address issues in a timely manner.
I love watching the lightbulb come on for a student! It brings me great joy to watch a student leave my house with a new sense of confidence that I can visibly see in the smile on their face.
I appreciate the blessing of working with families and getting to know them. My ultimate goal is to equip your student with the learning strategies and self-confidence that will empower them in the classroom as well as other educational settings. I enjoy helping families develop a individualized support system that can continue long after our tutoring season is complete.

Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
- My educational background includes an undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. I have a K-8 Arizona Certification which I keep current through continual professional development classes and conferences.
- I began my career in the Flowing Wells School District teaching 2nd grade, and also taught 4th and 5th grades in this district. As we started a family, I tutored students in our home and taught classes for Christian Home Educators of Tucson NW in history, math and language arts. I then continued my career at Pusch Ridge Christian Academy teaching 7th grade core classes, (Bible, history and language arts). I was then asked to teach high school history classes, so I obtained ACSI certification to teach world geography, world history and United States history at the high school level. After Pusch Ridge, I returned to public school and taught 5th grade in the Marana Unified School District for two years before deciding to tutor full-time.
Over my 30+ year career, I have become knowledgeable in assessing where a student is at in the learning process by thoroughly understanding the full K-12 experience. Having a comprehensive view of what a student should have mastered in previous years and what the curricular expectations will be for them in the future allows me to design an effective tutoring program.
