I am a junior at Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University majoring in biochemistry and minoring in mathematics and global health. I love to teach and have often found myself helping my peers in the subjects I excel in, which led me to tutoring.

I believe everyone can be good at math and science. The trick is finding the best approach to learning for a particular student, which might not be how the subject is classically taught in schools. I like to work with my students to determine how they learn best, often teaching them the concepts they struggle with in 3-4 different ways to find which one makes sense to them.

I excelled in high school, graduating with a non-weighted GPA of 4.00. I scored 1510 on my SAT and 34 on my ACT and got accepted to prestigious universities such as Venderbilt University, Georgetown University, Universtiy of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Case Western University. During my junior year of high school, I conducted an independent research project on how pesticides affect bees' metabolisms, for which I received several awards, and which took me to the International Science and Engineering Fair. I am involved in clubs and work on research at ASU. I regularly volunteer in the community, and like to read, backpack, and dance in my spare time. My non-weighted GPA as of June 2020 is 4.00.

I love when students have the "ah-ha" moment, where something finally clicks after working hard to understand a difficult concept. It makes all the work, all the explaining and re-explaining, all the frustration and time spent doing practice problems worth it. It is one of my great joys in life to help someone reach the "ah-ha" moment, especially in a subject they struggle with or do not enjoy, because, who knows, with enough "ah-ha" moments, it might become their favorite subject.
