About

My unique ability to make relationships with younger students given my young age allow me to be more than a math tutor. I believe it's more important to work on instilling confidence in the student to work towards a point where they can be self-sufficient. I believe math tutoring doesn't have to be a chore as many think, it can be fun and empowering all at the same time.

I've worked with students of all ages, from children to grandparents, with nothing but success as my reviews will show. I've built familiarity with every math class at just about every community college and high school within 50 miles.

All it takes is one session and your student will realize that not only are they capable of building up the skills to do it themselves, but that it can be a fun process with me by their side.

My experience includes working for a tutoring center called Mathnasium primarily directed at younger students, working for the State of Arizona in secondary schools helping students pass their state exams, creating online tutoring materials for various math textbooks on Chegg, and six years of in-home private tutoring.

There's a distinct difference between tutoring and teaching that any prospective students must understand. A tutor must be skilled in identifying each student's personal deficiencies and focusing on those in a personable manner. A student stays focused when they start to feel and realize that their personal sessions are nothing like their experience in the classroom.

Frequently asked questions

I always like to just leap right in as soon as I meet a new student.  If typically takes about 30 minutes to get a good feel for where the student stands, and what kinds of problems they seem to be experiencing.  During this first session, the student and I get to know each other pretty quickly and get a feel for what a plan for the future will be.

I've been private tutoring for over six years between part-time and full-time.  I've worked with nurses gettg into school, to Masters students who were financial bankers, to grandmas going back to get their education!  The unique thing about me is that I have seen it all, from every community college to university in Arizona, nothing catches me by surprise.

I also created tutoring materials for the popular online website Chegg for different textbooks still often used today.

Another piece of relevant experience a bit different from in-home tutoring was my time spent at secondary schools working for the State of Arizona.  This was primarily small group tutoring with students who had issues in their lvies preventing them from getting a more formal education.

I started teaching my Junior year of high school
