I believe I'm just a fun and engaging person with deep and useful knowledge. I like teaching as a whole and always try to tailor my lessons to each individual student to really help them understand the material.
Being able to share my fascination with the subjects with my students is the most enjoyable part about tutoring. It's also quite convenient to work from home or while traveling. (:

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First and foremost I try to talk to my students to understand what they want from our lessons.
I tell them about myself and ask questions.
Do they need my help, or maybe they're just curious and want to go ahead of their curriculum?
Do they have any suggestions about learning process, etc.
I want to understand how can I help my students to achieve their goals, and whether I am capable of such thing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I participated in various math and science competitions, built and launched rocket models at school.
Studied various topics of mathematics and science at the faculty of chemistry at the Lobachevsky University in Nizhny Novgorod at the undergrad level.
Read numerous related books, journals, and articles.
I'm familiar with the US and UK school curriculums and contens of various tests (i.e. SAT, AP, GSCE, A-Levels and IB).

20 USD / EUR per hour of tutoring
40 USD / EUR per hour of test prep (i.e. SAT, AP, GSCE, A-Levels, IB)
How did you get started teaching?
I've been helping my friends with their tests and exams as long, as I remember. It's just really satisfying to help people and share your knowledge!
So I just decided to start tutoring for real.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with all kinds of students, from primary school kids to undergrad students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Students should try to get to know their possible tutors. They could chat for a bit for example, ask questions, and should try to understand whether tutor's approach is to their liking.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should have a clear goal in their mind.
How can a tutor help them achieve the goal?
Are they ready to put in some effort? Etc.
