I enjoy sharing my knowledge and also collaborating with students to solve problems. It is a great way to gain understanding of the different approaches students take when searching for solutions to any given problem. I also enjoy mentoring and discussing the applications of things we are taught in school. The value of the education is almost never communicated until much further in our academic careers and not having this understanding is very discouraging for many students. Personally I have found that once I understood the value of my learning and the vast possibilities pursuing higher education allowed, it greatly motivated me to continue my pursuit and also focus on understanding what I am learning.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Our process for working with a new student is to first gauge an understanding of where his or her math skill lies and then determine where he or she would like to be in a given period of time. After that, we use our Foundation Mastery Method (FM2) to create a teaching environment which revolves around his or her success. Through teaching, practice, application, and understanding, we strive to generate a solid foundational understanding of math for our students to build their expertise and interest in the subject.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been tutoring since high school and it was a big part of my funding for my college tuition. I have worked with several teachers and tutors of various levels to create a learning environment supporting tutoring of up to 50 students at any given time. My background in engineering also requires me to maintain understanding of various subjects which are reinforced by mathematics in order to succeed not only in my professional career, but to also succeed as a teacher to others who yearn to understand the applications of their learning.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Our standard pricing system at the tutoring center is $200 per month for students below the 9th grade and $250 per month for students above 9th grade. We price our system by month to not limit our students' learning time to short periods. This monthly pricing allows us to provide a significant time portion of tutoring which translates to an affordable hourly rate. Our students in the monthly subscription are welcome to spend as much as they need at the center. We are open to customized pricing options for students who believe they do not need a monthly option.
How did you get started teaching?
I grew up in a household where both of my parents were math teachers. This allowed me to gain a solid foundational understanding of math at an early level which simplified learning math greatly. During high school, I was able to help younger classmates as well as my peers with their math in school at the library and this opportunity continued during my time at the university level. It got to the point where I was no longer able to go to my clients for tutoring but instead had to set up a central location for my clients to come to me so that I would be able to help multiple people at once. This environment gave me valuable exposure to group tutoring.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from a variety of levels. My youngest student was in first grade and my oldest student was pursuing a bachelors degree in economics. I have helped students who were behind compared to their classmates and also students who were studying for AP calculus.
