About
I have a great passion for math and Computer Applications and am dedicated to helping students reach their goals. I have been a math and computer applications teacher in Singapore for 3 years. Though I am in high school, students and their parents have always praised me for being a good teacher and for helping students understand math concepts that they did not understand before. I try to set affordable rates for my lessons because I want as many people as possible to understand and apply math and computer applications in their daily lives.
It is pure joy to me when a student understands a concept he or she did not know before. I like to transform a student's understanding so that he or she will have success in the real world.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I try to understand why the student got a tutor in the first place. Understanding this will help me to determine how motivated the student is and how I should approach the student. I also like to know my students' hobbies and interests so I can apply math to their daily life.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken Algebra I and II, High School Geometry, and have had experience with MS Powerpoint, MS Word, and MS Excel. I have also learned mental math skills with Professor Arthur T. Benjamin of Harvey Mudd College.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The price is very negotiable depending on the length of the session, how many sessions the customer agrees to, financial situation, and how often I must tutor.
How did you get started teaching?
I was inspired by my mother who was also a tutor and teacher.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types of 10,11,12 and 13-year-olds. I have worked with students who are not motivated at all to students who consider math their hobby. I have worked with F students, A students, and students in between.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't judge a book by its cover, or in this case, don't judge a teacher completely by his or her resume. What makes a tutor truly amazing can not be expressed with words. The teacher must instead be experienced firsthand. A resume can't demonstrate a teacher's communication skills, but having the teacher teaching you can.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do I want my teacher to know about me?
