About
I am a certified elementary education teacher (K-8). I taught for eight years before becoming a stay at home mom. I specialize in English and writing, but have also taught resource mathematics. I am comfortable tutoring online, and am able to assist with a variety of assignments. I am also comfortable with diagnostic testing and creating lesson plans to specifically meet the needs of my students.
I have a great passion for teaching. Working one on one with students gives me the extraordinary outcome of vast improvements in a shorter amount of time. While I do miss the classroom, I know first hand that a one to one ratio will yield greater success. It is such a proud moment when concepts begin to make sense to a struggling student.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I begin working with a new student, I start by discussing the students' needs with the parent. I then schedule a online meeting with the student where I share a little about myself and learn about their interests and struggles both in and out of school. Next, I administer one or more diagnostic assessments based on the area(s) of concern for the parent.
