My name is Layne Hutchins and I am currently a senior at Springdale High School. I have a 31 on the ACT and my GPA this year is a 4.75. I have balanced school and varsity football and baseball the past 3 years, and next year I will study mechanical engineering and play football at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. I am good with any age group and I can cover most high school subjects (excluding AP Calculus BC because that is kicking my behind). I also am a volunteer coach for the Club Net 13-3's volleyball team in Rogers. I do not have much formal experience as a tutor, but I often help my classmates with homework and I have been a volunteer coach for two volleyball teams and a youth football team.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I haven't worked with any students yet, so if I had a new student we would meet and get to know each other. From there, we would start working on whatever material the student needs help on and I will also bring some extra worksheets and study guides to help the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played and coached on different sports teams, so I know how to communicate and teach highschool, junior high, and middle school students. I also have taken multiple AP and advanced classes in the Springdale High Engineering and Architecture Academy, so I have a thorough understanding of the material I will be covering.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I would be willing to tutor for between $10-$15 an hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been working at Applebee's and not enjoying it, so my AP Calculus teacher recommended that I should start tutoring.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have coached a 5th grade youth football team, a 7th grade girls volleyball team, an 8th grade girls volleyball team, and I have worked with my fellow highschool teammates and classmates for the past three years.
