River Valley Tutoring, LLC
About
I am a recently retired soldier in the Army National Guard and starting to tutor as a 2nd career. I was on my way to a BS in Mathematics before putting that on hold to pursue my military career, and am in the process of becoming certified with the National Tutoring Assn for math. I will take the time to provide each student with my focus and energy so I can best help them achieve their learning goals.
Over my military career I have tutored a number of peers and coworkers who have gone back to college and needed to take those dreaded math classes. It was that one on one environment that led me to pursue a career in tutoring. I truly enjoy the direct impact I can have on my students and see their growth on an individual level.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We always provide new students with a free consultation to start. That allows the new student to ensure that I can meet their learning goals and fit their schedule. Every student's goals and learning style are different, so it's important to make sure that I work with each new student to provide an individualized strategy that is effective for them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Before deciding to put teaching on hold for my military career, I was a student at University of Arkansas at Fort Smith persuing a BS in Mathmatics. I am now on my way to becoming certified as a math tutor through the National Tutoring Association. I anticipate completing my certification program in October 2022.
