Shakera

My name is Shakera, but I prefer to be called Kera. I have been tutoring for about two years, both at my university and in various businesses. I am known for being friendly, understanding, and adept at explaining complex concepts. My tutoring approach prioritizes empowering my tutees, allowing them to control our sessions while I guide their thinking rather than providing direct answers. I believe in building on existing knowledge rather than imposing my methods.

I am passionate about helping students achieve breakthroughs in math, making them realize it is not as difficult as they initially perceived. Many of my past tutees have reported significant improvements in their test scores, often seeing results after being tutored by me at least three days a week. Currently, I work at my university's Center of Academic Excellence, a library-based program specializing in all levels of math courses, from the simplest to the most challenging. I tutor Precal Essentials, Precal Trigonometry, Calculus 1, 2 and 3 and even Differential Equations.
