About
Hi! My name is Briel, but you can call me Ms. B. I attended Troy University where I earned my Bachelor of Science in General Biology. I discovered my affinity for tutoring while volunteering at the Christian Love Center during my college career. It was there that I recognized my capabilities of bringing F's to A's and introducing a new level of confidence to developing minds.
Patience and versatility are at the center of my teaching style. Everyone learns differently and one-on-one sessions with a teacher who is willing to adjust to the student's way of learning, slow down when necessary, and break down a lesson in detail is the most effective method to optimal learning success. Math is a subject that builds on itself, so I ensure my students understand the fundamentals as well as everything leading up to our starting point.
I get an inherited fulfillment from helping kids learn as I come from two families of educators. Knowing that I helped a student leave a low place of self-doubt and secure a new level of confidence is an unmatched joy for me. Children are the future and I'd like to have a part in aiming for the brightest one possible.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get an idea of fundamental understanding of the subject from the student before we begin. I typically use the first session for this initial consultation. Once I have a good idea of the student's style of learning and a good starting point to build from, I can adjust accordingly.
