About
I believe that all students can learn. Some students do better in a one on one environment. I work through going over the material with them, giving problems where we go step by step to see the methods involved, and finally letting the student do problems without help. This way they can master the subject.
I am a professor in Birmingham in Mathematics. I've been there for 15 years.
I enjoy seeing students have that spark of inspiration as they realize they can succeed in Mathematics. There are few things as exciting as having that moment of total understanding.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I ask them what they understand, and where they need encouragement . We also talk about where they are in the class. ( Assuming they are in a class) Then we start trying problems to see how well they understand concepts.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Alabama. I have taught at Miles College for 15 years. Before this position, I was at the University of West Alabama for a year, and Judson College for a semester.
